gemini_shared/00ReadMe.txt Initiated by Franc Brglez, 2006 Feb 3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ gemini_shared is a web-visible volume http://gemini.csc.ncsu.edu:8080/ Members of geminiGroup can also -- mount the volume using Go -> Connect to Server (from a Mac). -- access all files and directories on the volume in the terminal window under the gemini home page: /Volumes/gemini_shared/. -- write/delete files and directories on this volume. An index.html file will be maintained so that only following directories are visible (for now): data/, Software/, UserBeds/. Links to these directories will also be made under the master home page on zodiac (http://www.cbl.ncsu.edu/). The purpose of top-level directories is as follows: Backups4gemini_users/ ... a backed subset of user home directories from the volume gemini_users. bin/ ... directory for executables to be shared among geminiGroup members. data/ ... home directories for various benchmark classes, many of them them containing isomorphs, typically structured for performance experiments under the xBed environment. Software/ ... central depository of all software for which permissions exists for open distribution (this page may also just have links to relevant SourceForge and similar archives.) SourceCodeArchives/ ... central depository of all open source code downloaded or originated by members of geminiGroup. SubversionDirs/ ... root directory for all projects (code and papers) created by subversion on gemini. tmp/ ... a directory for temporary items that should routinely moved/removed by members of geminiGroup who created them. TrashSoon/ ... depository of all items to be deleted soon and which require consensus of geminiGroup. UserBeds/ ... depository of reproducible and well-tested user configurations that generated, typically within the xBed environment, archival results of performance experiments on solvers and data sets. Details about these results are typically described in a tech report or an article. xBed/ ... scripts and solver executables for an environment that supports design, execution, and archival of performance experiments with combinatorial solvers on classes of data sets.
